Desktop Support Administrator

Department: IT Infrastructure
Location: Las Vegas, NV

Job Function Summary:

Responsible for providing first level and second level desktop support using all channels, including email, phone and ticketing system. Maintain adequate phone queue coverage to meet Team Member needs. Monitors internal technical systems and provide incident response assistance.


Specific Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides first and second level desktop support to all team members. 
  • Assists Team Members with third-level escalation and resolution. 
  • Documents instructional information for Help Desk team members on applications, hardware, and/or purchasing that applies to the Help Desk environment.
  • Maintains inventory of desktops, laptops and peripherals for all departments and branches.
  • Configures, Maintains and Deploys approved images to desktops, laptops and tablets
  • Provides first level support for mobility hardware, software and service.
  • Serves as technical resource for projects requiring Help Desk support.
  • Maintains an ongoing relationship with vendors and serves as technical resource for all desktop and software purchasing/troubleshooting. 
  • Evaluates and recommends new desktops, laptops, tablets and peripherals for implementation within the UFCU environment.
  • Performs workstation security patching & application deployments, endpoint protection and reporting.
  • Follows industry best-practices for Information Security, in addition to UNIFY policies, procedures and expectations.
  • Works collaboratively with others on the Help Desk and IT to build and maintain a strong cohesive team
  • Stays current in field, including attending appropriate training sessions.
  • Ensures full compliance with UNIFY Financial Credit Union Service Standards and the Bank Secrecy Act, as well as other applicable Credit Union policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications, Experience, & Education:

High School diploma or equivalent required.  Some college or technical schooling preferred.  A minimum of three years of Help Desk experience is required. Preferred industry recognized certifications include MCP, MCSE or A+ and SCCM experience. Thorough knowledge of all Microsoft desktop operating Systems, desktop application software, including Office Suite, IE Browser, Acrobat and anti-malware, Basic networking troubleshooting skills (such as Ping, Tracert, and IPConfig), VPN connectivity, PC/laptop hardware,  cable/DSL modems, DNS, DHCP and Wi-Fi Technology.  Requires the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; and to employ good troubleshooting & problem-solving techniques.


Physical Standards With or Without Reasonable Accommodations:

Requires the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours daily), repetitive motion of hands for typing, gripping, grasping, filing, etc., and the use of commonly-found office equipment and IT tools.  Must be able to lift up to 45.
